SDO Pre-Certification Workshop
(Become a Preferred Vendor for the State)
Friday January 27
10 AM to 12 Noon
Milford Savings Bank Community Room
1271 Providence Road
Whitinsville
The workshop format is a combination of lecture and PowerPoint slides. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to apply for certification, the certification application and helpful materials, and an understanding of OSD programs and services. An offer of on-site registration in the Small Business Purchasing Program will be available as well.
The Supplier Diversity Office requires all interested businesses to attend this session in order to apply for certification as a Minority, Women, or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. This session will run for approximately two hours. It will include information about the regulations, qualifications, process, and other information needed to begin the certification process. This session will include information from the Supplier Diversity Program (formerly AMP) and the Small Business Purchasing Program (SBPP) detailing the process to take advantage of upcoming opportunities for certified M/WBE's.
Certification is the process by which SDO reviews and investigates applicants who seek to participate in affirmative business opportunities to determine that they meet the requirements of state and federal statutes and regulations. SDO certifies companies for both State and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification programs.
SDO is an agency within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts helping promote the development of business enterprises and non-profit organizations owned and operated by minorities or women.
This program is free and open to the public. You may register online at: http://www.somwba.state.ma.us/WorkShop/xwrk_reg.aspx?workshopid=24&sessionid=2148
