Public Informational Session October 7th to Discuss Locating Quinsigamond Community College Campus in Blackstone Valley

WHITINSVILLE, MASSACHUSETTS, September 28, 2009: The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce will host an informational session at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 7th at the Singh Theatre at Alternatives Unlimited, 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, MA to help Quinsigamond Community College explore the opportunity for a campus location in the Blackstone Valley.

This important event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to see how the location of a Quinsigamond Community College campus would positively impact the economic vitality of the Blackstone Valley, while offering a significant opportunity to the residents in and around the Valley communities.

Quinsigamond Community College is one of the fastest growing community colleges in the northeast and has recently opened a campus in the Southbridge area with great success. The school is interested in expanding these horizons to include students from the Blackstone Valley area. "This is a wonderful opportunity for the Blackstone Valley. The Chamber is very excited to get behind such a project," stated Jeannie Hebert President and CEO of the Chamber. Gail Carberry, President of Quinsigamond Community College states, "For some time, we have been looking at the Blackstone Valley, and other locations, as a place for possible expansion. With the recent accomplishment of the QCC campus in Southbridge, now is the time for us to move forward with thoughtful consideration of other regions in our service area."
