Alternatives and partners offering Employer Roundtables in the BV

Alternatives Unlimited is a partner in the Central Massachusetts Employment Collaborative, a group of 40+ local employers, human service organizations, and state government agencies dedicated to finding more staffing solutions for employers in the Blackstone Valley and more employment opportunities for people living in the Valley that are also living with a disability.

The Collaborative is holding a series of roundtable events for local employers titled: "Build Tomorrow's Talent Pipeline, Today!" This discussion is intended to help businesses discover additional options for increasing their sources of qualified employees and are specifically geared towards business owners, hiring managers and HR representatives and will focus on:

• Strategies for creating a diverse & inclusive workforce by including employees with differing abilities in hiring plans;
• Reasonable accommodations and assistive technologies;
• Acquiring resources that you can use immediately regarding tax credits for hiring disabled employees.

The events will be held in the following two geographical locations:

Worcester Area:
October 13, 2011, 8:30 - 11:00
Worcester Chamber of Commerce, 446 Main St., Worcester, MA (Breakfast Event)

Milford Area:
November 16, 2011 11:00 - 1:00
Milford Nat'l Bank, 300 E Main St., Milford, MA (Lunch Event)
