Charlie Daniels Immortalized in Carved Statue At 21st Indian Ranch Concert

Blackstone Valley School of Crafts

Webster, Massachusetts, September 7, 2010 — Indian Ranch, Route 16, one of Massachusetts longest running and best known resort and entertainment venues, honored Charlie Daniels, holder of a record 21 appearances at the venue, presenting him with a life sized hand carved statue before a crowd of 2,300 fans during his concert Sunday afternoon.

The 6 foot tall statue, painstakingly hand carved by Glenn Sherman of Chepachet, R.I. and complete in every detail including Daniels' signature Western belt buckle, was revealed during a break in the band's set, by the Robert family, owners of Indian Ranch.

Daniels was caught completely by surprise, and overwhelmed by the gesture.

"The Charlie Daniels Band has become the signature of our summer concert season," Suzette Raun, President of Indian Ranch, said. "21 years of hard work deserves something special, and we thought this to be a great way to show our appreciation for over two decades of great shows."

The Indian Ranch concert series continues this weekend with Jo Dee Messina on Saturday afternoon at 2, and Randy Travis, Sunday afternoon at 2.

Tickets are available at www.indianranch.com, by calling 508 943 3871, or visit the box office at Indian Ranch, 200 Gore Road, Webster, MA.
