Six Blackstone Valley Students Participate in Foundation's Manufacturing Academy (MGFA)
Six Blackstone Valley students are participating in the Foundation's Manufacturing Academy (MFGA). Launched this fall, the MFGA recruited among juniors and seniors those students who are self-identified tinkerers, doers, and video gamers who enjoy learning while doing. The Academy meets for 35 contact hours two times per month from November -May and includes seminars about the vast manufacturing field, employability skills, continuing education and training options, computer-aided design applications, mold-making, and site visits to up to 6 advanced manufacturing companies in the Blackstone Valley region. A job fair will culminate the program at which participants will have an opportunity to interview with several area companies who seek inspired and prepared applicants.
