K-8 Blackstone Valley Students to Exhibit at 6th Annual Art in the Valley

MILLBURY, MASS - The Blackstone Valley Education Foundation and North Grafton's Sunshine Sign have partnered for the SIXTH Annual Art in the Valley student Art Exhibition of Visual Arts for K-8 students throughout the Blackstone Valley. Come join us for the opening reception on Friday, April 6th from 7-9pmand Saturday, April 7th exhibition from 10-2pm at the Elmwood Street Elementary School located at 40 Elmwood Street, Millbury, MA 01527.

Art in the Valley is a cooperative venture among Grades K-8 Art Teachers in public and private schools within the Blackstone Valley that highlight and celebrate the achievements of valley-wide students who have practiced discovery, problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, interpretation, inventiveness and cultural appreciation through art education classes. The Art in the Valley program is provided free-of-charge to schools in the Blackstone Valley, and organized completely by the participating visual arts teachers lead by Lorna Pezanelli of Millbury Public Schools.

Opening Reception will include greetings from Millbury's Superintendent, Susan Hitchcock and David Glispin, president of Sunshine Sign in North Grafton will be addressing Teaching and Learning for the Creative Economy. So come and celebrate the talent and achievements of these remarkable students and enjoy refreshments provided by Goretti's Market in Millbury.

The Blackstone Valley Education Foundation provides support for Blackstone Valley Schools and Community residents by linking work and learning through internship and entrepreneurship development, career conferences, grants to schools and teachers for work and learning curriculum development, and other convening and connecting activities in the Valley.
