Blackstone Valley Home & Business Expo A Huge Success
The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 8th Annual Valley Home & Business Expo on Saturday, March 4, 2006. Approximately 3500 visitors flocked to the field house at Northbridge High School, located on Linwood Avenue. Julia, Sophia Zechello & Twister
| There were just over 100 exhibitors and entertainers, all from different locations throughout the Valley and beyond!
The "Best Chowder in the Valley" contest was won by Whitney Place in Northbridge, part of the Salmon Family of Services. The Chamber wishes to thank all the participants of the contest because in our opinion, every chowder was a winner!
Expo booths were judged on specific criteria and awards were presented to the winners. Criteria included: aesthetics and creativity, communication, and staffing. Most Creative booth went to Salmon Family of Services in Northbridge for their Teddy Bear Clinic, Best Customer Service booth went to Foxy Travel of Linwood, MA, Best Non-Profit booth went to Slater Mill of Pawtucket, RI, and Best Overall booth went to the Asa Waters Mansion of Millbury. Congratulations to all our winners!
Various entertainers from the Valley and its surrounding towns occupied the stage and exhibitor floor with encore presentations and services. Included in the stage's itinerary were: a magic show by Jason Kallio at Say It With Magic, two Wild Birds of Prey live bird demonstrations by Larry Keating, entertainment from Guitar-Music Best Non-profit - Slater Mill
| Puppeteer Mr. Kim of Apple Tree Arts, performances by Mendon Dance Center, hip hop dance routines, singing, and instrumental performances from Northbridge High School students, and fabulous dancing from Jo Ann Warren Studio.
