7th Annual Blackstone Valley Youth Fishing Derby

Participants: Ages 3 yrs – 14 yrs.
$15 donation per child
Includes: a tackle pack, worms and cook-out

Rules and Derby Information:

Derby starts officially at 8 am and ends promptly at 12 pm
Last time to check in fish will be 12:10 pm.
The Award ceremony will begin approx 12:30 PM at the Hopedale Pond Boat launch area.
Awards - Trophies for 1st & 2nd place in 5 Categories: Bass, Trout, Perch, Pickerel, and Bluegill. Other prizes may vary.
Fish Scoring - All Fish will be scored by time, length and weight and time noted will break any tie.
Youth will be allowed 1 Major Prizes, to allow more children to receive prizes!
Please practice "Catch and release"
(ALL FISH must be released if possible after check in).
Shore fishing only – 1 line per child.
No adults allowed to Fish during the Derby, they may assist their child if needed.
2 Trout limit – each youth may check in 2 in the trout category.
Bait allowed: Live bait, worms, meal worms, shiners. Spinners, spoons, marsh mallows, trout bait and salmon eggs.
All Massachusetts Fishing Laws apply!
Rod & Reel method of fishing only. *
Must bring your own equipment. "No rocket rods"
T-shirts are available for pre-order $8 youth and Adult sizes.
