Specs and Pricing

Programs

There are two programs available: semi-annual and annual. Both are based on quarterly distribution of ads. The semi-annual program allows a member to be set up with two ads running for a six-month period (two quarters). The annual program allows a member to run four ads for a twelve-month period (four quarters). Participants have the option of running their ads simultaneously (all banners at the same time) or sequentially (different banners for different quarters). They also have the option of running different banners in different regions (see form for details).

The BVCC website has defined three different banner regions on the site:

Homepage: the homepage of the main BVCC site (www.blackstonevalley.org/index.shtml).

Tourism: all pages in the Tourism section of the main site, plus the Celtic Festival site.

Commerce: all pages in Economic Development, Education Foundation, Leadership Blackstone Valley, Member Information, Chamber Events, and Business Resources.

Members can purchase advertising in either the Homepage and Tourism regions (Tourism package) or the Homepage and Commerce regions (Commerce package). All members therefore share in the ad distribution on the Chamber's homepage (the most heavily trafficked page on the site) and have their choice of either the Tourism or the Commerce regions as their second region.

Note: banners will not run in the Members Directory, downloadable .pdfs, and any other pre-formatted unique pages. Additional regions may be added as demand dictates.

Both the six-month and 12-month programs provide for the banners to run in different regions, depending upon your preference. Members are also provided with the option of running different banners in different regions (see form for details).

Cost

Member fees to purchase either program are as follows:

• Semi-annual (2x, introductory) program: $60.
  This program allows you to run your ad(s) for two quarters and to swap your ad once for a different ad at no additional cost (e.g., you can run one ad in Q1 and either the same ad or a different ad in Q2).
• Annual (4x) program: $100.
  This program allows you to run your ad(s) for a year (four quaters), and to swap your ad three times in for a total of four ads, one per quarter.

Alternative programs that involve running more than the specified banner quantity are available to those interested. Additional fees for these programs will need to be negotiated with the Chamber and host (Huge Universe, Inc.); please call to inquire.

125 x 125 Square "Button" Banner Ad Specs

These ads appear in the left navigation column on all Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and Blackstone Valley Celtic Festival pages (with the exception of the Members Directory database pages, pre-formatted pages such as the Valley Focus pdf's, and other unique pages). There are currently three ad regions (zones) available: Homepage, Tourism, and Commerce (all non-Tourism pages); advertisers can choose either of two combinations: Home & Tourism, or Home & Commerce.

• Dimensions: 125 pixels wide x 125 pixels high
• Supported File Formats:
  • GIF format - 72 dpi
  • Animated GIF - 72 dpi
  • JPEG/JPG format - 72 dpi
  • Flash - must follow Macromedia Flash click-tag guidelines
  • Non-accepted formats: Java, Java Applet, Video
  • Maximum File size: 25k (preferred: < 15k)
  • Links: Every banner requires a working redirect URL provided with the banner

Target Links: Every banner requires a working redirect URL provided with the banner - the link can be to your main website or to a specific page within your site. The redirect URL should be embedded in Flash files as specified by Macromedia.

Reports

The host will make ad impression (number of times an ad was served) and clickthrough rate (the number of times someone clicked on an ad) reports available to the Chamber on a quarterly basis; the Chamber can then at its option extract these reports for members who desire reports.

Creative

The Chamber may provide creative for any members who cannot or do not want to provide their own creative. The cost of ad creative depends on a number of factors, including the type of ad, the complexity of the ad, and revisions of the ad. Huge Universe can provide ad creative for a one-time cost of $75 for two banner ads, providing these ads are either simple animated gifs or Flash ads requiring minimal programming and no more than one revision. Complex ads such as Flash ads requiring more elaborate programming or multiple revisions will incur additional charges based on an hourly rate of $75, billed in half-hour increments.

It is expected that ads are delivered to the Chamber ready to deploy and in accordance with the ad specs below. If there is a problem with the creative (incorrect format, banner too large, etc.), either the member will rework the ad to meet the specs or Huge Universe can rework or recreate the ad as necessary based on an hourly rate of $75.

The Chamber's website host can provide bridge pages for members who do not have their own websites for an additional fee; if a member is interested in this option, please contact the Chamber for details.

Terms

Terms of sale: Net 30 days from invoice date upon approval of credit. Commissions: rates stated are net rates, advertising agencies should contact the Chamber for gross rates to utilize for commission based sales.

Cancellations: notice of cancellation of advertising must be received in writing prior to the scheduled start date. If the Chamber or its agents have provided creative for a cancelled commitment a creative charge of $150 may be billed at the Chamber's discretion.

Conditions:

1. All ads are accepted subject to provisions of the current rate card. Rates are subject to change upon notice of the Chamber and as published on the Chamber website.
2. All advertisements are accepted and published entirely on the representation that the agency and/or advertiser are properly authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof. It is understood that, in consideration of the publication of advertisements, the advertiser and/or agency will indemnify and hold the Chamber and its Host harmless from and against any claims or suits of libel, violation of rights of privacy, plagiarism, trademark and copyright infringement, and other claims based on the contents or subject matter of such publication.
3. The Chamber reserves the right to reject any and all advertising that the Chamber feels is not in keeping with the Chamber's standards, policies and principles.
4. The Chamber will not be bound by any conditions, printed or otherwise, appearing on any order blank, insertion order or contract when they conflict with the terms or conditions of this rate card, or any amendment thereof.
5. The Chamber shall not be liable to any costs or damages if for any reason it fails to publish an advertisement. The liability of the Chamber or its Host for such an error will not exceed the cost of the space occupied by the error.
6. Advertisers and their agencies will be presumed to have read this card and agreed to its conditions without further contact or notice.
7. The Chamber reserves the right to modify this program at any time.
